the story of corn
That story you’ve just heard was called The man and the Bird. .It was about how a shaman came to be. Oh i’m so sorry I am sitting bulls son. He hasn’t given me a tittle yet so i’m sorry. Anyway this next story of how corn came to be.
Once there was a spirit named Wichita. He was the spirit of the first harvest. He had to bring the best harvest to the humans. But since it was winter he did not need to do any thing to help them. He sat watching his sister Santera blowing snow. He thought “That must be sad and gloomy for the humans.I will help them.” So he creeped up on her and he tried to sprout a piece of squash. It didn’t work and his sister noticed it. “ What are you trying to accomplish?” she said. She was so outraged she could barely contain her self. “ Nothing” said Wichita. Down were the humans are there was a snow storm. “You could have killed me.” said Santera. “ I promise I will never do it again.” he said. Santera looked gloomily at him and said “ are you sure? “ Then while Santera tried to blow again but she couldn’t blow she tried to blow again and again but then she noticed that there was a piece of melon in her throat. “Get...This...Out...Of...My...Mouth!” she said. then she froze it and threw it up. Then ...PLOP. A seed fell into the earth. Then water came down and the plant sprouted. The brother and sister looked at each other with a great idea so wichita used all of his plants and vegetables and Santera used her water and wet the plants. The only down side is that wichita did not have the unlimited amount of fruits and vegetables , so he had to make up an new piece of vegetable. So he thought up this stuff that grows on stalks. And surprisingly it looked like this. In the end santera and wichita saved the Sioux from starvation. Now they say the stuff that grows on stalks

The history of the souix
The history of the Souix was very interesting. They used a lot of worldly uses. I will tell you what they did.
The entertainment they would have was great. The kids would play a game that you would try to get the arrow into a rolling hoop. Then they go fishing in a lake near by. The kids father would say "son don't forget to thank the spirit." So you have to thank the spirit then shave the skin off of the fish. The last thing you would do before you go to bed you would listen to a story or play with dolls.
You would eat A ton, you would eat elk and bear. Mostly you would eat corn. Did you know corn was the souix staple? Thats what they mostly grew. Then they eat melons like Watermelon, Cantaloupe, and Honeydew and Crenshaw melon. Lastly they ate green, yellow, and purple squash. They were very good growing the plants they had seeds for.
The culture you would have was very exciting. You would do the eagle dance. It would bless the eagle with good flight and travel. Then you would do the sacred food dance. You would thank the god of food and harvest and ask for a better harvest for next year.
I hope you have learned a lot about about the Souix tribe. So now you can learn a little more at your museum. Thank you for reading may blog and I hope you liked it.

The man and the bird
Once there was an old man that was about to die. He said to his to his eldest son " son go find me the blue jay of life. Tell him to come to this very spot." The son said "Yes father I will find the blue jay and bring him to you." So the son went into the forest and looked for the blue jay. Then the son sat down to take a nap. He was so tired of walking he could not even stand up. He laid down the tree and slept. When he was sleeping he felt like he was flying! "I'm flying,I'm flying!" he said. When he looked down all he saw..."Blue jays!" the son said. "I can't believe it." One of the birds said "We will fly you to our shaman, Watana." So the bird flew him to see the shaman. When the son saw the shaman he bowed before him. " O great Watana, will you help me save my father. He is very sick and needs tending to or he will die." Watana said " I will help you father, for a price. All I ask is for food." So the son went to get food for the old blue jay. He gathered nuts, berries, and sweet grass. Then he went back to the shaman. I have brought you your food o great Watana. When Watana eat he grew and grew and grew until he grew into a man. He had a bull skull chained to a stick and a bone through his nose. The son said " Can you come to save my father." Watana said " I will help you save him now. So they flew to the sons father. When they reached the house the sons father was so pale you could see right through him. " I will heal you" said Watana. So he hovered over the father and a magical light came over him and then... Foosh! The sons father looked like he was a young man again! The son was so amazed he asked " How did you do that?" The shaman just shrugged and sat down with his skull. He put the skull on the wall and said " Feed me." When he eat he shrank until he was a blue jay. " I will come to you if only you hit the skull and if you don't feed me i will not come again."
